The president elect of Linguistics and African Languages Students Association, Mr. Adegoke Taiwo has assured the generality of LALSAITES that his administration will maintain balance in its relationship with lecturers, in a way that it will not affect the students of the department.
He made this known on Wednesday November 20, while speaking with our correspondent after the just concluded elections.
Mr Adegoke, who described the just concluded elections as free and fair, stated that LALSAITES should put their minds to peace, as his administration will be all out to ensure a mutually beneficial tenure for all stakeholders.
“To move LALSA to the apex is my priority ” he further emphasized.
In the election, the president elect, Mr. Adegoke Taiwo, the Vice President elect, Mr. Olaniyi Oluwaseyi (Prof Seyi), the Assistant Social Director elect, Isiwat, the Treasurer elect, Samuel, the Financial Secretary elect David, the Sport director, Shakespeare were unopposed, but were declared winners having fulfilled the 2/3 requirement of the total votes cast.
Malik who had 171 votes against his opponent Blake who polled 103 votes, was declared winner for the post of the Director of Socials.
In a tight race, Saint Pradol had 141 votes against his opponent Bukola (Miss LALSA) who polled 137 votes; thus, Saint Pradol was declared winner for the post of Director of Culture.
John Dollar who had 163 votes against his opponent Classy who polled 105 was declared winner for the post of Librarian.
The president elect, when asked of his view on merging fresher’s party and induction said “We will do the right thing at the right time that won’t affect the academic performances of all sites”
