OAU: Linguistics Student Wins Big at Freshmen Sports Fiesta

A part-one student of the department of Linguistics and African Languages, Obafemi Awolowo University, Semilore Adesite Grace has made the department proud after clinching double awards at the recently completed Freshmen Sports Fiesta while representing the Faculty of Arts. 

Semilore emerged winner of the 1500m race and the first runner-up for the 800m race. 

While expressing her feelings after the win, Adesite attributes her success to God. She extends appreciation to her brothers for their moral support and also acknowledges the contribution of her friends. 

She confirmed that this moment has been one of her goals since resumption. 

The journey, for her, is not a day job. She started as a representative of her secondary school in different competitions while she also represented Oyo state at a marathon race.

Currently, she is part of the Female football team of the Obafemi Awolowo University
