OAU: Drug-Free Club unveil plans for Annual Week

The Students' Arm of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Drug-Free Club, Obafemi Awolowo University has unveiled plans for its annual "Drug-Free Week”. 


The club which is interested in the campaign against drug abuse, misuse and the trafficking of illegal substances will commence its week on Saturday, May 20, 2023, and end it on May 27, 2033. 






According to the president, Muhyideen Abioye, the reason for the week is to further campaign against drug abuse. He reiterated that the activities of the week will educate students, members of staff of the university community and beyond on why they should stay away from illicit substance abuse. He further said that It will also serve as a way to help those that are already engaged in the act. 


 “Our drug-free week will help to strengthen action and cooperation in achieving the goal of a world free of drug abuse,” Muhyideen added.


Below are the outlined programs for the week: 


Saturday, May 20, 2023; 

 PROF. SALOKUN HEALTH FITNESS WALK.

 Venue: Anglomoz car park to campus gate. Time: 6:30 am


HEALTH OUTREACH

  Venue: OAU campus market. Time: 3:00 pm


Monday, May 22, 2023;

AWARENESS CAMPAIGN.

Venue: Student Union Building. Time: 4:00 pm


Tuesday, May 23, 2023;

VISITATION TO MOTHERLESS HOME

Venue: Moro, Ile-ife. Time: 3:00 pm.


Wednesday, May 24, 2023;

BLOOD DONATION

Venue: White House Basement. Time: 10:00 am


FREE GENOTYPE CHECK (IN HONOUR OF LATE PHARM. FADEELAH ADEYEMI)

Venue: White House Basement. Time: 10 am


Thursday, May 25, 2023;

YUSUFF &  TAIWO INTER-FACULTY DEBATE AND ESSAY COMPETITION

Venue: Marquis LT, Faculty of Pharmacy. Time: 4:00 pm


Friday, May 26, 2023;
