Education refers to knowledge, skills, facts, and ideas learned from school, home, or other places that benefit one another. Before discussing the quality of education, let us survey if education is available. Ages ago, we heard that there was free education, but in this fourth republic of Nigeria, which began in 1999, there is no iota of free education; quality education is now more expensive than affordable, contributing to the high rate of illiteracy in our society.
Meanwhile, it causes more harm to us and puts our domicile in danger. The incessant increase in figures of out-of-school children in Nigeria is alarming and calls for the authority's attention. We should know that education for all is the responsibility of all. If everyone neglects the need for qualitative education, its consequences may not leave any stone unturned.
One will agree that quality of education proffers a saintly atmosphere in society because every educated fellow will be acquainted with the constitution and the law of the land. This will help them become elites and distinguish right from wrong and good from evil. Criminal acts like robbery, thuggery, stealing, killing, banditry, and kidnapping will reduce, if not decline, because everyone will be aware of the country's do’s and don't and the penalty set aside for each crime. The fear of facing the wrath of the law will instigate them to obey law and order.
To play my part in the discourse, I am studying Education Biology at a reputable tertiary institution in Nigeria. I can choose a career in education pursuit after my 4-year programme. I may like to be a professional educator, teacher, administrator, proprietor, lecturer, author, educationist, counsellor, and the like in which every one of the specialists has the chance to foster quality education.
Graduates of education faculty have seen a distinct educational mainstream reinvigorating the configuration of our nation's education. If this continues to be substantiated, literate will supersede illiterate in our fatherland. Togetherness for greatness is a motto we should uphold to combat the menace of education and introduce a panacea.
Being a student in Nigeria's Northwest region and hailing from the North Central part of the country, I have the s of education variables. I can provide lasting solutions to them. I have been taught that a teacher facilitates and makes learning or learning gives learners routes to earning. The belief in the promise of education can actualize our dream and unchain the chain of ignorance in this milieu.
Nigeria can be great again if quality education is provided with the expected large quantum of support from the government and individuals. This so-called giant of Africa is our country; if we don't stand by it, no one will do that on our behalf. A Professor once said a nation can only develop up to its level of education. So, education is required to develop this developing or even under-developing nation.
