LALSA ELECTORAL COMMITTEE CHANGES ELECTION DATE, URGES ASPIRANTS TO OBTAIN FORM BEFORE DEADLINE

Barely three weeks to the Linguistics and African Languages Students' Association's elections, the Electoral Committee has on Wednesday 06 November 2019 announced the change of dates of electoral activities.

In a release made available on the departmental notice board, the electoral committee attributed the change of dates to the irregularities associated with the school calendar which may result in students shunning the electoral process and finding the proposed dates not conducive.

As noted in the newly released statement, the electoral screening is slated to hold on the 14th of November 2019 by 3 pm at AFST 213, Manifesto and Debate are set to hold on the 15th of November 2019 by 2 pm at Admin LT, while the Election is slated to hold on the 18th of November 2019 by 10 am at Open Amphi and Swearing in of the newly elected Executives will hold on the 20th of November 2019.

It could be recalled that the Electoral Committee in their earlier released statement, noted that screenings will hold on 17th of November 2019 by 3 pm at AFST 213. Electoral Debate to hold on the 18th of November 2019 by 4 pm at ICAN LT. The manifesto presentation is to hold on 19th, November 2019 by 4 pm at ICAN L. while the Elections were stated to hold on the 20th of November 2019 with the time slated for 10 am at Open AMPHI AFST. Swearing-in of the newly elected members of the Executive was to take place on the 25th of November 2019 by 10 am at AFST213.

The committee urges that aspirants should obtain forms before 14th Nov.2019 by 12 pm, furthered that the deadline for sales of forms will be strictly followed.
